Thanksgiving is one of the favorite holidays for my family. And today, I realized that it’s just around the corner.  I was thinking that for this year, I want to make a different dinner, but still traditional.  Turkey is a must for my dinner, and my family loves our turkey recipe, so that’s something we cannot change. But there are a lot of other foods alongside the turkey.  I finally decided to give a twist to my potatoes.

A thanksgiving dinner without potatoes is incomplete, and there are so many different ways to make a side dish with potatoes for thanksgiving dinner that it will not be easy to make a decision. First of all, instead of mashed potatoes, we can cook a creamy potato soup with ham and onions; or with bacon and leek.  It’s very easy to make, but these additional ingredients will make it turn out great.

And to make it more exotic, just add some Italian sausage, crushed red pepper flakes, bacon, heavy cream and some fresh spinach. This Tuscan potato soup will have a mild spicy flavor, but that will make it irresistible.  Any of these three options will give a special touch to your traditional thanksgiving dinner.
